Section Awards

This is a list of awards that has been discussed by the section staff and will seek approval at the 2007 Sectional Conference. Please direct comments to Fulori or Adam.

Leader of the Year
This award is presented to the individual that has done the most to promote leadership among Section 43. Such leadership could be demonstrated by leading the effort for a sectional event. Nominations will be considered against one another.

Friend of the Year
This award is presented to the individual that has done the most to promote friendship among Section 43. Nominations should come from a different chapter than the nominated individual's home chapter. Nominations will be considered against one another.

Golden Hammer of Service
This award is presented to the chapter that has the greatest overall number of service hours.

Silver Hammer of Service
This award is presented to the chapter that has the greatest average service hours per brother. Final figures will be calculated using this formula:

(Total service hours for the chapter) / (Brothers currently registered in the chapter) = Service-per-brother

Golden Trowel of Service
This award is presented to the individual in Section 43 that has completed the greatest number of service hours during the previous Alpha Phi Omega year (Aug. 1 - July 31)

Man-Mile Award
This award applies the following equation to each chapter that comes to the Sectional Conference:

(Number of brothers present) * (miles from chapter to host) = Man-miles

The host chapter presents the chapter with the most Man-miles an award of their choosing.

Traveller of the Year
This award is presented to the individual that the section believes has done the most travel for section, region or national Alpha Phi Omega events. Nominations must come from a different chapter than the nominated brother's home chapter. Nominations will be considered against one another.

Bright Spots
This award is presented to an individual or chapter that the section staff wishes to thank for services done for the section.

Chapter of Merit

Chapter of Honor
