Alpha Phi Omega National Bylaws:
ARTICLE IX, SECTION 8. CHAPTERS IN GOOD STANDING.
A chapter in good standing is one which yearly meets its financial, administrative, and Annual Charter Reaffirmation obligations to the National Fraternity; is not more than 90 days delinquent in its financial accounts with the National Office; has confirmation of submission of a Spring Youth Service Day Report and a National Service Week Report; has at least one Active Member; and which has not been declared inactive or suspended, or had its charter revoked, or has not otherwise been deemed in violation of the policies or National Bylaws of Alpha Phi Omega; or of the rules, regulations, or policies of its school.

Checklist for Chapter of Excellence

Modified from the Chapter of Excellence Requirements PDF:
The purpose of the Chapter of Excellence program is to recognize those Chapters whose programs of Leadership, Friendship and Service promote growth and longevity. It is also designed to promote better communication between the Chapter and the Sectional, Regional and National leadership through regular reporting of chapter activities.
To win this award, a chapter must complete all of the items in the Required table and at least two in the Options table. The requirements must be completed during the current reporting period, July 1st through July 31st, which corresponds with the Fraternity’s fiscal year.
Chapters of Excellence will be recognized at the National Convention in even-numbered years and at the Regional Conference in odd-numbered years.

All National paperwork completed
and on time (see above)
The chapter is in compliance with
all Risk Management Policies,
Standard Chapter Articles of Association,
and National Bylaws
The chapter has no outstanding
financial obligations
Hold a training/orientation session for all new officers and advisors
Host an alumni event or
publish an alumni newsletter
Attend annual Sectional and Regional/National Conference (if scheduling conflict, substitute one conference from another Section/Region)
Conduct a CPPC (or other planning activity)
Submit paperwork for H. Roe Bartle Award

Optional&AlphaΡΔΠΖΩ ΝΓΡΛΦΓΑΑΖ ΑΑΡΑΓΚΑΓΩ
Host/Attend two or more Leadership Development events (APO LEADS, MDW, etc.)
Achieve Joseph Scanlon Certificate of Merit
List of graduating seniors sent to National Office each semester
A letter of recommendation from the Chapter Advisory Chair outlining the Chapter’s service on campus during the year.
Submit article to Torch & Trefoil and/or local media about a chapter activity
Involvement in a project or program with one of Alpha Phi Omega's National Partners, such as Campfire USA, America's Promise, the President's Student Service Awards, the Boy Scouts of America, USA Freedom Corps, the Girl Scouts of the USA and Youth Service America.
